Women: Haines Is A Hornet!

By: Watford FC Staff

The Golden Girls are delighted to confirm the signing of creative midfielder Coral Haines ahead of the 2023/24 Barclays Women’s Championship campaign.

The exciting playmaker was a standout performer for Crystal Palace over the last three seasons, having signed for the Eagles from Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 and gone on to score 15 goals in 59 league appearances.

Haines, 27, has enjoyed a successful career so far after starting out with fellow Championship side Birmingham City. Then in the Women’s Super League, a teenage Haines turned out for the Blues in the UEFA Champions League and earned caps for England’s Under-19s.

Swapping St Andrew’s for North London in 2017 on a loan deal made permanent a year later, the Leicester-born star spent three years at Spurs, winning promotion to the WSL in 2019.

Finishing fifth with Crystal Palace in her final season south of the river, Haines is the Hornets’ second summer signing, following Harley Bennett’s arrival from London City Lionesses.

Welcome to Watford, Coral!
