We are thrilled to announce another addition to the Golden Girls’ ranks, with Gemma Davison joining the club.

A former Watford youth player, Davison has pretty much done it all in a glittering career that has seen her win numerous trophies and accolades.

The 34-year-old winger is one of the most well-known names in women’s football, having previously played for Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Reading, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in England, plus also having spells across the pond in the USA.

An England international with 16 caps to her name, she really made her mark at Arsenal, while enjoying plenty of success at Chelsea, and Liverpool too.

The first spell at Arsenal saw her be a part of a side that won six consecutive league titles in the FA WPL National Division. She helped the team win the Women’s FA Cup on several occasions, and also the UEFA Women’s Cup (now Champions League) in 2006/07.

Success over in America followed, before she returned to the Gunners in 2012, winning her first FA WSL title, another Women’s FA Cup, and two FA Women’s League Cups.

The additions to the medal collection wouldn’t stop when she moved on to Liverpool, and then Chelsea respectively, winning three further WSL titles, the 2017 Spring Series, and the 2014/15 Women’s FA Cup.

In recent years, she has continued to be one to watch in the top tier of women’s football, making almost 50 league appearances since leaving Chelsea.

The next stage of her career will be back with the Hornets, and the attacking threat and winning mentality that Davison brings will no doubt be a huge addition to the squad.

She’ll be eligible for selection today against London City Lionesses, and will wear number 36 during her time at the club.

Welcome to Watford, Gemma!
