Watford FC Women are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Charlotte Fleming ahead of the Hornets’ return to the Barclays Women’s Championship this Sunday (August 27, 12noon KO) against Durham.

Former London City Lionesses midfielder Fleming, 21, began her career in Chelsea’s youth setup at the age of eight and ascended the Blues’ ranks, becoming Under-18 captain in 2020.
Making her senior debut under boss Emma Hayes in 2019 as a 17-year-old, Fleming moved to Leicester City two years later, winning promotion to the Women’s Super League in 2020/21 whilst at the club.
The industrious midfielder ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in September 2022 when playing for London City against Charlton Athletic, but is nearing the end of her rehabilitation and aims to join full training with her new teammates over the next few weeks.
