Women: Fan Guide - Blackburn Rovers

By: Watford FC Staff

It’s the Golden Girls’ first home match of 2022 this weekend, as we host Blackburn Rovers Ladies in the FA Women’s Championship on Sunday (January 23 – 3pm KO). Looking or planning to attend? Here’s some key information ahead of your visit to Kings Langley FC.

Getting To The Ground

Train

If arriving by train, the Orbital Fasteners Stadium is within walking distance of a couple of stations. Apsley on London Northwestern Railway is the closest – just a 15-20 minute walk away.

Also within walking distance is Kings Langley station (on the same line), which is approximately a 25-30 minute walk away, with the route taking you through the town centre.

The usual service is one train every hour, although the exact minute of these do vary ever so slightly.

A full timetable and further information on journey times/future engineering works can be found here. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we would highly advise checking that your service is running before you travel.

Arrivals at Apsley station within three hours of the match starting are as follows…

From London: 12:23, 13:21, 14:21

From Hemel & further north: 12:28, 12:47, 13:46

Timings from Apsley station within three hours of the match finishing are as follows…

Towards London: 17:46, 18:46, 19:44

Towards Hemel and onwards: 17:19, 18:19, 19:19

Car

If travelling by car, please note there will be no parking available at the stadium, unless you are using the disabled section. Parking is readily available in the town centre and by the surrounding areas around the ground.

We recommend using Langley Hill Car Park (WD4 9HD) or The Nap Car Park (WD4 8ET). These are in the town centre, 24 hours and a 10-15 minute walk from the ground. Parking is also free.

The postcode of the ground is WD4 8BS. If wishing to plan your journey via Google Maps, you can do so here.

If you require disabled parking, please email womens.marketing@watfordfc.com and this will be sorted for you.

Bus

The 501 bus runs from Watford High Street and other locations around the Watford area, stopping just two minutes from Kings Langley FC (Coniston Road stop).

Services run every hour with timings (from High Street Stop B) as follows: 12pm, 1pm, 2pm.

Please note that after the game, the last service back to Watford is at 17:32.

You can also get the 501 if you live in areas such as Hemel, Berkhamsted, Tring and Aylesbury. A full timetable can be found here.

These can be purchased online, at the Vicarage Road Ticket Office, or over the phone (01923 223023). Online sales will stay up until 12noon on Sunday.

We strongly advise you to buy in advance if possible.

*Concessions are as follows: 65 and over, full time students and 18 and under.

Arrival/Entrance

Kick-off is at 3pm. Those who have purchased tickets in advance will be able to enter via the turnstiles.

We recommend an earlier arrival time where possible. If buying, or collecting complimentary tickets, please allow plenty of time.

If needing to access the disabled section, the entrance point to the left of the turnstiles will be opened for you.

Dogs

If you have a dog, they are more than welcome at the ground, however we do please ask that you keep them on leads.

Stay Safe

While the wearing of masks is encouraged, it is not compulsory while at your seat watching the game. We do ask that while walking around and using the indoor areas of the stadium, that you do wear a face covering, unless you are exempt.

Due to the current pandemic and FA regulations, it unfortunately will not be possible to interact with the players and coaching staff after the match has finished.

Stands

For those who would rather watch the match sitting down, a seated stand is available on the side. For those who wish to stand, uncovered terracing is available on the side and behind both goals.

A disabled area is available – this is covered and raised above pitch level.

Please note: Due to red zone restrictions, the covered terracing on the side will not be accessible to supporters. The seating behind the goal is also no longer available.

Food & Drink

A burger van will be open serving a range of food and drinks, this will take both cash and card. Drinks and snacks are also available in the clubhouse.

Matchday Programme

Our 44-page programme will be available to purchase for just £3. It includes a feature with Georgie Ferguson, information on our opponents Blackburn Rovers, a Junior Hornets section for all our young fans and much more!

Advance sales will stop at that point, however it will still be possible to buy from the Kings Langley clubhouse on the day.
