Women: Evie Gane Joins On Dual-Sign Deal

By: Watford FC Staff

The Golden Girls are pleased to announce the signing of Evie Gane on a dual-sign agreement from Portsmouth FC Women.

A defender who brings previous experience in the second tier of women’s football, Gane is Watford’s fourth arrival in January, joining Morgan Rogers, Teyah Goldie and Shauna Vassell in moving to the Hornets.

Gane is a former Welsh Under-17 and Under-19 international. She has also previously played for Reading, Oxford United, Aston Vila and London Bees at club level.

The new addition has plenty of football under her belt in recent seasons. She was an almost ever-present with Bees in the Championship last campaign, while 2021/22 has seen her be a key component of the Portsmouth side.

Capable of playing at centre-back, full-back or in a more advanced position, the 22-year-old will be a much-valued asset to Gifton Noel-Williams’ squad.

The nature of the dual-sign deal will mean that Gane will be able to play for both Watford and Portsmouth for the duration of the agreement.

She will wear number 32 while with the Golden Girls, and is eligible for selection immediately.

Welcome to Watford, Evie!
