Watford FC Women are pleased to confirm the signing of young defender Cerys Brown on loan from Barclays Women’s Super League side Chelsea until the end of the season.
A natural full-back capable of also operating at centre-half, Brown made her first-team debut for the Blues in March 2023, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Reading.
The 18-year-old’s performances at youth level were recognised with the Under-18 Player of the Season award, with the defender also signing a professional contract that summer.
Brown is a teammate to Arsenal dual-sign trio Michelle Agyemang, Laila Harbert and Katie Reid at England Under-19 level, having stepped up to the age group this term.
The highly-rated youngster will wear the number 27 shirt, and is available to be selected for this weekend’s Barclays Women’s Championship game against Birmingham City.
