Women: Bianca Baptiste Signs

Watford FC Women are delighted to announce the first new arrival ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, with Bianca Baptiste joining the club.

The forward has had plenty of success in her career so far and makes the move to the Golden Girls after a productive three seasons with Crystal Palace Women.

Baptiste was an integral part of the Eagles’ side in the FA Women’s Championship, only missing two games in total over the last couple of campaigns.

In 2020/21 she was particularly impressive, netting 14 goals in all competitions – a rate better than one every two matches. Six of those came in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup, a tally which saw her end up as the competition’s top scorer.

Those performances certainly didn’t go unnoticed, with Bianca being named as Palace’s Player of the Season. That individual award isn’t the only silverware in her collection, with the 30-year-old playing a huge part in Tottenham Hotspur’s rise through the leagues.

Having featured well over 150 times for Spurs, Baptiste would help the side she had spent most of her career with earn promotion to the FA WSL in 2018/19.

A couple of seasons prior to that, Tottenham won promotion to FA WSL 2, winning the FA WPL Southern Division, and then beating Blackburn Rovers in the play-off. They were victorious in the FA WPL Cup that year too, retaining the trophy that they had also won the previous campaign.

That was the last time that Bianca played in the third tier. She scored 27 goals in 34 games in all competitions, which included a brace in the play-off game, showcasing the ability that she has to perform on the biggest occasions.

With the Golden Girls’ aspirations this upcoming season, both that and the threat she will pose in attacking areas will no doubt be a huge asset to the team.

Welcome to Watford, Bianca!
