Ticket Prices: How We Do It At Watford

By: Watford FC Staff

As ‘The Original Family Club’, Watford FC works hard to ensure supporters of all ages have reasonably-priced options to attend matches at Vicarage Road – and this extends to those following our opponents.

Tickets for those aged 18 & under are just £5 across the entire Vicarage Road end, including both the Ann Swanson Family Stand – which is available to all Watford supporters attending with someone aged 18 & under – as well as the visiting supporters’ area. The same price type does not exceed £10 across the rest of the stadium.

Concessionary tickets are also on offer to supporters of other ages. Tickets priced beneath the headline rate apply to those aged 65 & over and, this season, we’ve added the 19-21-year-olds price type, extending the eligibility for lower priced tickets to all those beginning to make their way in employment and/or further education.

Season tickets remain the most cost-effective way to purchase home match tickets, but we recognise that a one-off single payment can be problematic, particularly for families. That’s why, for several years now, we’ve offered the option to pay by interest-free direct debit. Recently, we’ve adjusted the payment plan to 12 months to make this method even more attractive.

Family-friendly season ticket pricing is particularly on offer in the Ann Swanson Family Stand, where new 18 & under season tickets were priced at £38, with early renewals at just £35, working out at just over £1.50 a game. First and second parent/guardian season tickets were also on offer in this area, helping to lower the cost for families to join us at Vicarage Road.

We fully recognise that the matchday experience is greatly enhanced for all of us by having away supporters at games, so without a Premier League style price cap in place within the EFL, limiting the amount charged to away supporters, it’s incumbent upon us as a club to provide a fair deal.

With regards to prices available to visiting supporters attending Vicarage Road, a reciprocal agreement is always offered to our opponents, with various options available, down to £20 adult tickets. Indeed, we contacted all our fellow EFL Championship clubs during the season break to extend this offer and reiterate this before sales begin.

For our own supporters, we’ll always accept the lowest reciprocal deal made to us, as we look to back those who back the team by travelling across the country. On top of this, we continue to subsidise official club coach travel to away fixtures, maintaining a reasonably-priced transport option.

As a club, we’ll continue to do our best to keep the live football experience an accessible choice for everyone.
