Team News: Watford v Brentford

By: Watford FC Staff

Cucho Hernández will certainly be absent for tomorrow’s Premier League meeting with Brentford (Saturday April 16, 3pm KO).

The Colombian attacker, who has scored three goals in his last five appearances, was withdrawn during the first half of last weekend’s match against Leeds United.

Subsequent medical examinations have revealed a serious hamstring injury.

Manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the injury in today's press conference.

“Cucho’s injured,” said Hodgson. “I’m afraid the hamstring injury is a serious one, we won't be seeing him for a considerable period of time. I hope he will return before the end of this season but it will be close.”

Elsewhere, Samuel Kalu is suffering from a minor ankle injury, William Troost-Ekong has picked up a slight hamstring strain and Francisco Sierralta will also miss out due to a minor calf injury.
