A clash against Crystal Palace is up next for Roy Hodgson’s Hornets at Selhurst Park this Saturday (May 7, 3pm KO) in the Premier League.

Ahead of this weekend’s encounter, we take a look at some of the stats, facts and figures that surround the fixture.

Previous Meetings

This will be Watford’s 110th league meeting with Crystal Palace, making them the side they’ve faced the joint-most in their league history (also 110 v QPR and Bournemouth).

The Eagles are looking to complete their first league double over Watford since the 2011/12 Championship campaign, following their 4-1 win at Vicarage Road in February.

Key Players

Joshua King has scored three goals in nine Premier League appearances against Crystal Palace, with all three goals coming for Bournemouth in 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19.

Moussa Sissoko is looking to become the first Watford player to score home and away against Crystal Palace in a league season since Almen Abdi in the 2012/13 Championship campaign.

The other Golden Boys to have scored against the Eagles include Tom Cleverley and Craig Cathcart.

Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha notched his 12th Premier League goal of the season last time out against Southampton, making this his best-ever goalscoring campaign in the top-flight.

He also scored twice against Watford in the Eagles’ win earlier this season, having scored just once in his previous 10 against the Hornets.

The Dugouts

Watford boss Hodgson is looking to become the first former Crystal Palace manager to beat the Eagles in the Premier League after taking charge of them in the competition since Sam Allardyce in February 2018 with Everton.

Hodgson has managed against Palace three times in his career in total, securing a win, a loss and a draw.

Opposition Stat Attack

Zaha is Palace’s top goalscorer this season with 12. The attacker also has the most shots on target (26), dribbles attempted (132) and fouls won (88) in the Eagles’ squad – he is top in the Premier League for fouls drawn.

Since joining from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, Marc Guéhi has had a significant impact on Crystal Palace’s fortunes. The defender is top for appearances in the league (33), passes attempted (2,157), clearances (111) and blocks (26).

Michael Olise has contributed with the most assists (5) this season for Palace, while Conor Gallagher has attempted the most crosses (113).
