Ahead of Watford v Coventry City on Saturday (March 9, 3pm KO), we take a look at all the stats, facts and figures surrounding the Sky Bet Championship clash.

Recent Form

Watford have both scored and conceded in eight of their last nine league games at Vicarage Road, while the Hornets have scored at least once in 14 of their last 15 league matches on home soil.

However, the Hornets have lost each of their last three home games played on a Saturday, their worst such run outside of the top flight since six consecutive defeats in the 2013/14 campaign.

Eight of Watford’s last 10 league goals have come in the second half, including each of their last four since Mileta Rajović’s 42nd minute strike against Norwich last month.

Coventry City have won just one of their last four away league games (D1 L2) after winning three in a row between December and January.

Opposition Stat Attack

The Sky Blues have scored more goals (16) in the final 15 minutes of the game than in any other period. They rank fifth in the league for goals conceded (42), and fourth in the league for goals scored (57). Only five of these strikes have come from outside the box.

Only Josh Sargent (8) has scored more Championship goals in 2024 than Coventry’s Ellis Simms (6), who netted a hat-trick last time out against Rotherham. The striker’s six goals in his last three appearances in all competitions is the same amount he managed in his first 38 games for the club.

Haji Wright is imperative to this side going forward, with the American both scoring the most goals (11) and providing the most assists (6) in the league for Coventry.

Defensively, Bobby Thomas stands out for the Sky Blues. He has made the most clearances (143), blocks (40) and interceptions (40), as well as attempting the most passes (1886).
