The Hornets welcome Burnley to Vicarage Road this evening (August 12, 8pm KO) for the third match of the new season.

Previous Meetings

Five of the last six league encounters between Watford and Burnley in the Championship have ended level, with the Hornets winning the other at Vicarage Road in March 2012. The last four in a row at this level have been drawn.

Watford have won just two of their last 14 league games against the Clarets [D6 L6] and none of their last five since a 3-1 away win in August 2018 in the Premier League.

Burnley have restricted their opponents to just two shots on target so far this season, the fewest in the Championship across the opening two matchdays.

The visitors are looking to win consecutive away league games for the first time since May 2021 and are unbeaten in their last 12 away games in the Championship, winning the last four in a row.
