Sissoko: “We Say Sorry To The Fans”

Moussa Sissoko apologised to the Watford supporters and vowed his team “will not give up” after the Hornets fell to a 3-0 defeat against Norwich City.

The captain acknowledged the poor result against the Canaries which sees Watford drop into the bottom three, sharing frustrations about the second-half performance.

“We knew how important it was,” said the Frenchman. “We lost our discipline after the first goal and started doing our own things.

“We want to say sorry to the fans because they came with good enthusiasm and energy but we didn’t show enough to win the game.”

The Hornets have two weeks before their next Premier League match, a trip to Burnley on Saturday February 5 (6pm KO). The midfielder calls on the squad to stick together and work hard to turn around a disappointing run of results.

“We are now in the bottom three so it’s difficult but we will keep working and doing our best. We must work, fight and not give up, because it’s not over. We aren’t doing enough and should do more.

“We have to work at the training ground and work on what we need to improve. We need to take points.”
