Sir Elton John At The Vic: Preparations Building Ahead Of Historic Shows

By: Watford FC Staff

Sir Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has nearly reached our doorstep, with Vicarage Road playing host to its Honorary Life-President and former Chairman on Sunday July 3 and Monday July 4.

The global megastar will stop off in Swansea and Cork before his homecoming shows as he continues his packed schedule of tour dates.

The performances mark Sir Elton’s fourth and fifth - and final - occasions performing at his beloved ground, having last played at the home of the Hornets in 2010.

More than 30,000 packed into the stadium in May 1974 for the first performance, as Sir Elton started to grow his involvement with his boyhood club, while he also performed his Back For Our Future concert at The Vic in 2005.

The recently launched Elton X Watford merchandise range provides the perfect opportunity to commemorate the two upcoming special nights for Sir Elton, the club and all in attendance, inspired by iconic Watford and Sir Elton John imagery.

Preparations are well underway at The Vic for the concert, with the stage being built throughout the week. The wall by the Sir Elton John Stand now also adorns a mural of the singer, created by MurWalls earlier this month. You can catch a glimpse of the impressive artwork from Occupation Road.
