Return To The Vic: Are You Match Ready?

By: Watford FC Staff

Watford FC are back at Vicarage Road for Sunday’s fixture against Leicester City (May 15, 2pm KO) in the Premier League - the team’s last home clash of the season.

All at the club are delighted to have welcomed fans back once again for the 2021/22 campaign, however it is vital that everyone works together to keep matchdays safe.

Covid-19 Guidance

Watford FC and the Premier League continue to urge fans to follow public health guidance to keep each other safe on a matchday, while there are some simple steps supporters can take to minimise the risk of passing on Covid-19:

• Be responsible and do not travel if you have Covid-19 symptoms.
• Wear face coverings in indoor settings like The Hornets Shop and crowded areas.
• Continue to regularly wash your hands and avoid unnecessary contact with commonly-touched surfaces. There are hand sanitisers placed around the ground for everyone's use.
• If possible, take a Covid-19 test on a matchday to check there is no risk of passing on the virus.
• The best way to protect yourself and others from Covid-19 is to get vaccinated.

Earlier Matchday Arrival

We appreciate the efforts of supporters who are arriving earlier than usual in order to attend the match on time. We continue to encourage supporters to get into the habit of arriving earlier than you currently do; that’s if you’re someone that regularly reaches us with less than half-an-hour to go until kick-off.

The clock-style graphic below gives a visual representation that the ideal latest arrival point to the stadium is over half-an-hour before kick-off time, please.

‘The First 45’ Offer

To encourage earlier arrivals, those who like a draught pint at The Vic will be able to take advantage of the ‘First 45’ offer. For the first 45 minutes after the turnstiles open (12.30pm to 1.15pm), you’ll be able to buy draught beer at £4 per pint from all kiosks.

Note: this offer applies only to draught Budweiser and Camden Pale Ale.

Other Important Matchday Information

Ticketing

Fans can now use Apple Wallet or Google Pay to store their NFC (Near-Field Communication) matchday and season tickets. Click HERE for details on how to add your ticket to your mobile device.

The Supporter Services team have worked closely with a number of fans who have experienced difficulty with downloading or using their tickets in order to make their entry into the ground as easy as possible. We strongly encourage anyone who has any questions to get in touch with the club directly by emailing supporters@watfordfc.com or calling 01923 223023 so these can be resolved.

To quicken the flow of fans into the ground, we would ask that supporters prepare their phones before reaching the turnstiles. Your NFC pass will remain live for 90 seconds once it is opened from your digital phone wallet, so if you are scanning more than one pass from your device, you may need to close and re-open the wallet.

Dedicated ticketing staff will be on hand at the turnstiles, as well as at the Ticket Information pods, to provide further assistance on the day to anyone who needs it.

For all information relating to NFC mobile ticketing and entering the stadium, click HERE.

Increased Security And Bag Checks

There will again be an increase in our security operation this weekend, in particular with searches and bag checks at the turnstiles. In order to reduce the potential for delayed access into the stadium, supporters are asked to arrive as early as possible, and to refrain from bringing bags any larger than A4 size. Security checks upon arrival are in place for all bags.

Pitch Invasions

A reminder that any spectator who enters the field of play will be handed over to the police and dealt with accordingly.

Supporter Code Of Conduct

Ticket holders must comply with the Supporter Code of Conduct to help keep their fellow fans safe. The Watford FC Supporter Code of Conduct is available HERE.

Working Together

Please follow directional signs and follow all instructions given by stewards or other stadium staff to ensure everyone's safety. Please be respectful to those around you, avoiding queues where possible, hugs, high-fives and unnecessary close contact with people you don't know.

Parking

There are a variety of parking options for supporters on home matchdays.

As well as renewing our partnership with leading car parking operator CitiPark to offer discounted matchday parking in the Church, Gade and Sutton car parks, supporters are now able to reserve parking spaces in the Holywell Primary School, Watford Grammar School For Boys or Westfield Academy car parks on a match-by-match or seasonal basis, thanks to a new partnership with Event Support Team.
