By: Watford FC Staff

Vakoun Bayo spoke to watfordfc.com after scoring his first goal since December in the Hornets’ 2-2 draw with league leaders Leeds United.

Read what the striker had to say below...

It was a good game today in front of our supporters, a difficult game because we played against the leaders, but I think a good performance from the boys and also from the manager, Tom Cleverley, so we did well. We wanted to have the three points but maybe in the next game [against West Brom on Monday].

I think the support was amazing, they were behind us every time and they pushed us, so I think that’s why we did really well today and we will keep continuing like that.

The ball came straight to me [for the goal] so I had to react directly with a strong shot and it was a beautiful goal. I haven’t scored in a long time so it was good for me and also for the next step, and it was good to celebrate with the fans.

Tom has changed a lot of things and I think we’ve played really, really well since he’s been here so we have to continue like that.

I have to do extra; even though I scored I have to do more for the team. I have to fight and I try always to do my best, and then today I scored and I was so happy.

We’re a little bit disappointed because we wanted to keep the score at 2-1 but we drew. It’s not a bad performance but we have to be focused for the whole game next time until the end.

We will rest tonight a little bit and then go back to training tomorrow and prepare well for the next game.
