Pre-Season: Hornets Host Two Friendlies On Saturday

By: Watford FC Staff

The Hornets continue their build up to the new Premier League campaign with two more friendlies tomorrow.

Xisco Muñoz will oversee a side against top-flight new boys Brentford in a behind-closed-doors match at the club's training ground before he heads to Vicarage Road for the clash with West Bromwich Albion at 3pm.

Striker João Pedro will be among a number of players who won't feature this weekend. The Brazilian striker sustained a knee injury in a friendly with Millwall 10 days ago and will be sidelined for a few weeks.

Kiko Femenía and Nathaniel Chalobah are both building up their fitness after missing the end of last season with injuries, while Domingos Quina will also miss out with a minor knock picked up in training.

Fellow midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru is closing in on a return to match action after missing the majority of the 2020/21 campaign with a knee injury. He may feature for the Under-23s in midweek.

And players who have only very recently reported back after summer international duty are also unlikely to be involved much at all in the weekend's matches.

HIVE LIVE BROADCASTING – SEASON 2021/22

Watford FC was grateful to receive many kind messages in recent weeks about how much our Hive Live broadcasting was enjoyed and how it provided a real connection for supporters to the club during challenging circumstances.

Hive Live output will continue during the season ahead, but different broadcasting rules mean that we will be unable to incorporate any Premier League matches within our live video streaming offering. This matchday element will be replaced with a free-to-access live audio commentary stream of all Hornets’ first-team fixtures.

There will not be live video or audio streaming available for either of the forthcoming home friendly fixtures (July 24 v WBA, July 31 v Barnsley), however there will be live coverage of some kind (TBC) when Watford travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday August 7 for their final pre-season game.

Further plans for Hive Live’s coverage of Watford’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign will be shared in the coming weeks.
