Poppy Appeal: Watford Shirts From Rotherham United Match To Be Auctioned

By: Watford FC Staff

Football in the UK will once again come together to show its support for the Royal British Legion, with players across the country proudly wearing the poppy on their shirts for this year’s Remembrance weekend.

Since it was first worn as an act of Remembrance just over 100 years ago, the red poppy has become an enduring symbol of support for our Armed Forces. Remembrance unites people of all faiths, cultures and backgrounds.

Watford FC will continue to show support for the Armed Forces community, with players bearing the poppy on their famous yellow shirts in the upcoming match against Rotherham United (Saturday November 11, 3pm KO) at Vicarage Road.

The match-worn shirts will be made available to purchase in a live auction from kick-off until 3pm on Sunday November 26. Bids can be made HERE once the auction is live.

The proceeds raised are being donated to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Adding to the value of these shirts, each one will be individually signed by the respective player who wore it, making it a unique piece of sporting history.

Every donation to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal helps to provide vital support to the Armed Forces community and ensure their unique contribution is never forgotten.

MatchWornShirt’s 2022 Poppy Appeal campaign was a spectacular success, raising more than £900,000 for the Royal British Legion.
