Four Players Up For POTM Prize

Emmanuel Dennis is nominated for December's Stake Player of the Month award after another fruitful period in front of goal. The Nigerian took his tally for this season to eight goals with three more strikes against Chelsea, Brentford and West Ham United.

Alongside Dennis, Moussa Sissoko is up for the gong after producing consistent performances throughout the festive fixtures. The club captain even played provider for Watford’s goal against Chelsea as Dennis etched his name onto the scoresheet.

From the Women's team, in-form duo Emma Beckett and Georgie Ferguson are nominated.

Beckett's clinical free-kick against Coventry United was one of December's stand-out moments, and the experienced midfielder played every minute in the league.

Georgie Ferguson, a new arrival in the summer, has quickly established herself as a key name in the Hornets squad. The shot-stopper was vital to the Golden Girls earning a point against Coventry, and a run that has seen Watford go unbeaten in four of their last five FA Women's Championship games.

Five Wonderful Strikes Nominated For GOTM

Dennis scored the Hornets' first of the month against a tough Chelsea side just before half-time. The Nigerian placed the ball past Édouard Mendy in the net for the Blues, setting off to celebrate with the Watford faithful.

In the following fixture, Cucho Hernández notched his second of the season with an impressive strike against Manchester City. The Colombian’s original shot came back off the post and this time he didn’t need a second chance, converting the rebound with a composed scissor kick.

Watford’s marksman, Dennis, was back on the scoresheet once more against Brentford. He leapt highest from a Tom Cleverley corner to head the ball into the back of the net at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Emma Beckett’s set-piece strike against Coventry United is nominated for this month’s prize. The midfielder’s smart free-kick was slotted perfectly into the corner, past the stranded goalkeeper.

The final nomination is from Dennis, the Golden Boys’ closing strike of 2021. The forward produced a fantastic move to find the top corner with his left foot, dribbling past West Ham’s centre-backs to release a devastating finish.
