Watford FC is pleased to announce the signing of young defender Charlie Stallard, who has joined the Academy on a one-year deal with the option for a further season.
The 19-year-old, who is adept at playing at either left-back or centre-half, joins following spells at Sky Bet League One side Cambridge United and St Neots Town.
Stallard is delighted to have secured his move to the Hornets, where he hopes to continue his development during the coming campaign.
Speaking after finalising the paperwork, he said: “I’m very happy to sign. I’m honestly so excited to join such a massive club and with such an amazing history, so I’m really happy to be a part of it. I’ve just got to keep my head down now and get a few more years in at this club and see where it takes me.
“Family is a big thing for me and seeing how happy they are with me signing here means the world. I’m so happy I can give them joy seeing me playing football for such a big club.
“I’ve really enjoyed training so far. It’s been great, a really great standard with the boys. I love the facilities, the ball zips along the grass. My aim now is to make a name for myself in the Under-21s, try and get into the first-team set-up when I can and just push on from there.”
