Official: Quina & Gaspar Depart

Watford FC confirms the permanent departure of midfielder Domingos Quina to Italian side Udinese.

The 23-year-old scored three goals in 37 appearances for the Hornets after signing from West Ham United in the summer of 2018, including featuring 14 times during the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign to help secure promotion to the Premier League.

Following loan spells at Granada, Fulham and Barnsley, Quina spent the majority of the 2022/23 season away from Vicarage Road at Elche and then Rotherham United, and he will now look to further his career at the Dacia Arena in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Mario Gaspar’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent. The Spanish defender made 33 appearances in all competitions following his arrival in Hertfordshire last July, and his versatility proved particularly crucial amidst extensive injury problems within the first-team squad around the turn of the new year.

Juergen Elitim has also left Watford FC, having signed a permanent deal at Polish heavyweights Legia Warsaw, while fellow Colombian midfielder Ober Almanza has joined Orsomarso SC on loan until December 31, 2023.

We wish our departing players all the best for the future.
