The Hornets are pleased to confirm the signing of Croatian striker Stipe Perica on a permanent transfer from Udinese.

The 25-year-old, who spent time in England with Chelsea from 2013-2015, scored seven goals in 15 appearances last season while on loan at Mouscron in the Belgian top flight.

Perica’s career began in his home country with Zadar before his prolific form attracted interest from Chelsea. After two seasons at Stamford Bridge, which included a successful loan spell at NAC Breda, the imposing 6ft 4in striker made the switch to Udinese.

The Croatia Under-21 international made his Serie A debut replacing Bruno Fernandes in February 2015, and he has scored 10 times for Udinese since, despite having spent the past two seasons largely out on loan.

He has now signed a two-year contract with the Hornets, keeping him at the club until 2022.
