Official: New Contract & Loan Move For Cucho

Cucho Hernández has committed his future to the Hornets, signing a new long term contract with the club.

The 20-year-old forward has spent the past two seasons on loan at Spanish outfit Huesca, helping the side achieve promotion to La Liga before scoring against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia in the top flight.

Hernández had international success last season too, scoring a hat-trick for Colombia in the Under-20s World Cup and bagging a brace in a first team friendly against Costa Rica on his debut.

Technical Director Filippo Giraldi said: “We are very pleased with his progress. He had some difficult moments but that is how you grow. You've got to have those ups and downs.

“His goal-scoring record was good. He scored away at Valencia, away at Barcelona and away at Real Madrid and I think that's something only Agüero did.

“It's something remarkable and we must be proud of this. He has something different and we must take care of his development.”

Hernández will continue his development in the Spanish top flight with a season-long loan at Real Mallorca for the 2019/20 season.
