Glenn Murray will join Watford on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, the club are delighted to confirm.

The experienced striker has a prolific scoring record in English football, having hit double figures nine times in 13 seasons since he first broke through in 2007 for Rochdale.

Murray scored 111 goals in 287 appearances during two spells at Brighton, while also netting 47 times in 125 outings for Crystal Palace.

A stunning 30 Championship goals for the Eagles in 2012/13 earned the forward the league’s Golden Boot award and helped seal promotion.

More recently, 23 strikes for Brighton in 2016/17 sent the Seagulls to the Premier League before Murray scored 12 and 13 goals respectively during his first two seasons back in the top-flight.

The 36-year-old will now join Vladimir Ivić’s squad as the Hornets prepare for the Sky Bet EFL Championship opener at home to Middlesbrough on Friday September 11.
