Watford FC forward Joseph Hungbo has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Huddersfield Town on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season, the club confirms.

The 23-year-old signed for the Hornets in July 2019, following his departure from Crystal Palace, and after making his senior debut against Tranmere Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup six months later, he went on to spend the 2021/22 campaign at Scottish Premiership side Ross County.

A year north of the border yielded plenty of success for Hungbo, with the London native scoring six goals in 33 appearances in all competitions - including the Cinch SPFL Goal of the Season against Dundee - while he also claimed Ross County’s Goal of the Year, Players’ Young Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

Having returned to Hertfordshire in the summer, Hungbo has featured nine times during 2022/23 - including starts against MK Dons and Reading in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively - taking his tally of total club appearances to 17.

He will now gain further experience at Huddersfield under Head Coach Mark Fotheringham, with the Terriers currently sitting 22nd in the second-tier rankings ahead of an away clash at Blackpool on Saturday (January 21).

Best of luck, Joe!
