Watford FC is pleased to announce the signing of Junior Gyamfi, who has joined the Academy on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who hails from Germany, made his professional debut for Milton Keynes Dons in an EFL Trophy defeat to Cheltenham Town in August 2022, before heading out on loan to Bedford Town.

Gyamfi - who has linked up with the Hornets’ Under-21 squad - is excited to continue his progression as a footballer with the club.

“I’m over the moon to have signed,” he began. “I’m really excited to get going. I have been here on trial for the past four weeks and everyone has been really welcoming and has really brought me in as part of the team. I’m excited to see how far this group can go.

“I’m a hard worker and I’m ready to do anything for the win. I occupy the middle of the park and I try to get the team going. I was at MK Dons for three years, spent some time at Bedford as well, and I have got a lot of experience under my belt which has helped me to understand men’s football better.

“It’s all valuable experience because men’s football is totally different to academy football, and I feel like I’m ready to show everyone what I can do. I want to win as many games as possible with the Under-21s, train well and get involved with the first-team.”

Welcome to Watford, Junior!
