Young Hornets goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg has joined Gillingham on loan until the end of the 2021/22 season after being recalled from a temporary spell at fellow League One outfit Doncaster Rovers.
The 22-year-old moved to South Yorkshire in August and went on to make 20 appearances in all competitions for Rovers, the last of which came in a 1-0 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town on January 8.
Now on his way to Kent, Dahlberg’s latest loan marks his fifth since arriving at Vicarage Road from his native Sweden in January 2018, and he will be looking to help the Priestfield outfit - currently 23rd in the third-tier standings - towards safety.
