Étienne Capoue has left Watford after completing a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old midfielder played 181 games for the Hornets after signing from Tottenham for what was a club record transfer fee upon promotion to the Premier League in 2015, scoring 14 goals.
He was named Player of the Season at the end of 2018/19, a campaign which saw Watford reach the FA Cup final and achieve a best league finish in 32 years.
The Hornets thank Étienne for his efforts over the past five-and-a-half years and wish him well for the future.
