News: Watford FC Celebrates Success Of The ‘Recite Me’ Toolbar

By: Watford FC Staff

Two years on from the start of Watford FC’s partnership with Recite Me, we look at the statistical success of the website’s accessibility tool.

The Recite Me accessibility and language toolbar first became available on watfordfc.com in April 2020, providing supporters with full control over the customisation of the website to suit their needs. The opportunity to change the text size, the font and colour, as well as additional reading tools, are all available in the toolbar at the top of the site on any page.

The assistive technology also allows page viewers to translate and read text aloud, and use a dictionary to find instant definitions of certain words.

As of March 29 2022, 23,832 pages were viewed using the toolbar’s assistance, with 3,308 unique users. While the majority of audio playbacks are in English, users have also listened in French, Arabic and Italian, and read the pages in French, Italian, Danish, Arabic and German.

The toolbar is easily accessible and allows translation into over 100 languages and 35 text-to-speech voices at the top of the Watford FC website, and saves your settings for every visit.
