News: 'Super Sunday' Vaccinations Return

By: Watford FC Staff

After almost 2,000 people were vaccinated at Watford’s ‘Super Sunday’ Pfizer clinic back in June at Vicarage Road Stadium, residents including the newly-eligible aged 16 and overs are being urged to get their first COVID-19 vaccine or second dose, as the town’s biggest ever ‘pop-up’ vaccination clinic returns on Sunday (August 22).

For one day only, Vicarage Road Stadium will once again be transformed into a vaccination centre, giving the Pfizer vaccination to anyone aged 16+.

Running from 10am until 6pm, available for walk-ins or booked appointments, the super-sized clinic is designed to support the town’s efforts to reduce infection rates and give people better protection by providing them with their first dose or second dose (for those who have received their first dose at least eight weeks ago).

If you would prefer the certainty of a booked appointment, go to watford.gov.uk/supersunday or call 01923 278616 (open Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and closes at 3pm on Friday August 20) and a member of staff will make a booking on your behalf. Alternatively, you can walk up on the day without an appointment, but please be prepared to queue to enter the stadium.

People who go along won’t need to provide ID and don’t need to be registered with a GP, nor be worried that their immigration details will be passed on.

Entry to the stadium will be from outside The Hornets Shop and down Occupation Road. The stadium is fully wheelchair accessible and disabled parking is available. A managed queueing system will be in place to ensure social distancing is maintained and face masks must be worn at all times when inside the building (unless exempt).

No parking is available at the club or on the surrounding streets. To avoid congestion, please consider using public transport or walking when visiting the vaccination centre.

You can use the flexible minibus service, run by ArrivaClick, which is offering free trips for anyone using the service to get their vaccine. Simply add the promo code Vaccine1 or Vaccine2 to book your vaccination journey for free.
