Francisco Sierralta reached his latest milestone as a Watford player at the end of October, with the Chilean defender crossing the 50-appearance mark in yellow during the hotly-contested 1-0 win away at Wigan Athletic.

The 25-year-old joined the Hornets from Serie A outfit Udinese in September 2020, having begun his professional career with Universidad Católica in his native home country, and also enjoyed spells at Granada, Palestino, Parma and Empoli.

After making his Watford debut in a Carabao Cup clash at Oxford United in September 2020 - a game the Golden Boys eventually won on penalties - Sierralta’s league bow came two months later at home to Preston North End, in a 4-1 home win.

Strong performancs at the turn of the year earned Sierralta a regular place in Xisco Muñoz’s team, and the former would ultimately make 26 Championship appearances as Watford were promoted back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

An away trip to Tottenham Hotspur in August 2021 marked Sierralta’s debut in the English top-flight, and the Chile international - who has won 13 caps for La Roja - went on to make four further appearances in the competition last season.

Back in the Sky Bet Championship this term Sierralta has re-established himself as a regular in the Watford team, featuring 15 times in all competitions ahead of tonight’s home match against Reading (November 8).

After surpassing 50 appearances against Wigan, Sierralta notched only his second Hornets goal - and first since March 2021 - in the very next game against Cardiff City, that helped his team go on to record a third successive victory.
