By: Watford FC Staff

Following Saturday’s EFL deadline for the submission of retain and release lists, Watford FC confirms the following players have left the club.

Achraf Lazaar and Carlos Sánchez, who joined the Hornets midway through the 2020/21 campaign, will both depart following the expiration of their contracts.

This is also the case for Jerome Sinclair, who spent last season on loan at Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia, and for Mamadou M’Baye.

Negotiations continue with goalkeeper Rob Elliot, who arrived at Vicarage Road in January.

We thank the departing players for their contributions and wish them the best of luck for the next steps in their careers.

Academy: Seven Pro Deals Offered

The club also confirms seven academy players have been offered new professional contracts.

One-year deals have been tabled for midfielders Dan Phillips, Kamil Conteh and Bosun Lawal, forwards Dom Hutchinson and JJ McKiernan, and goalkeepers Dante Baptiste and Adam Parkes.

Meanwhile, Kane Crichlow has seen the option of a one-year extension to his contract exercised, the attacker having signed an initial two-year deal in the summer of 2019.

Defenders Jack Broome, Jack Burchell and Andi Janjeva, as well as midfielder Jordan Harrison, will all continue their development as third-year scholars in the academy.

A further 18 academy players remain under contract until next summer: Ryan Andrews, Shaq Forde, Will Hall, Damani Hunter, Adian Manning, Alfie Marriott, Freddie Moriarty, Enoch Muwonge, Ben Smith, Tiago Cukur, George Langston, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, Derek Agyakwa, Maurizio Pochettino, Myles Roberts, Ryan Cassidy, Joseph Hungbo, Henry Wise.

The following 13 players will leave the club: Mac Chisholm, Thomas Horsewood, Max Thompson, Phoenix Patterson, Bayli Spencer-Adams, Maxwell Statham, Mason Barrett, Sam Dalby, Harry Forster, Teddy Perkins, Toby Stevenson, Mitchel Bergkamp and Henry Ochieng.

All at Watford FC wish the best of luck to these departing youth players in their future careers.
