Ahead of Watford FC’s Sky Bet Championship curtain-raiser at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday (August 5, 3pm KO), the club can confirm squad numbers for the men’s team for 2023/24.
Recent arrival Giorgi Chakvetadze has taken the vacant number 16 shirt, with fellow summer signings Tom Ince, Jake Livermore and Rhys Healey choosing seven, eight and 14 as their first numbers at Vicarage Road.
Jamal Lewis will wear the number six made vacant due to Imrân Louza’s switch to number 10, while Francisco Sierralta (3), Wesley Hoedt (4), Ryan Porteous (5), Mattie Pollock (15) and Ryan Andrews (45) have each swapped from 31, 44, 22, 32 and 57 respectively.
Matheus Martins has once again been handed number 37 - following his re-signing on loan - and Vakoun Bayo and Shaq Forde have retained numbers 19 and 47 following their temporary spells away from Watford during the second half of the last campaign.
