Watford FC confirms that Edo Kayembe has returned to the club from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The midfielder departed to play for the Democratic Republic of Congo following the 3-3 draw with Plymouth Argyle on New Year's Day.

However, Head Coach Valérien Ismaël has confirmed that the 25-year-old is now back with the club.

"Unfortunately for Edo he will miss the Africa Cup of Nations due to a calf injury," Ismaël said.

"We will now assess him to see how long he'll be out."

Ismaël also updated on further team news ahead of the Sky Bet Championship fixture at Queens Park Rangers on Sunday (January 14, KO 12noon).

Jamal Lewis will miss out again with a hamstring strain in the hope he'll be fit to return to training next week, while the club is targeting the Emirates FA Cup tie with Southampton for the return of Ken Sema.

Vakoun Bayo will serve the third match of his three-game suspension following his red card against Stoke City, while Jeremy Ngakia remains a long-term absentee with an ankle problem.
