Xisco Muñoz understands that every point in the Premier League is crucial in the “amazing challenge” Watford face this season.

The Head Coach is grateful for last Saturday’s Vicarage Road support, and knows the team must continue the momentum into the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

“First of all I want to say thank you to all of our fans,” he said, speaking to the press ahead of the first away game of the season.

“The atmosphere was lovely, it was amazing and they helped us. It’s true we need to prepare for this situation [playing away], we need to know the atmosphere away and we will play with the same character. The team knows the important situations in the game.

“We need to continue with this attitude, the attitude was brilliant and if we play like this we will win more games. We are more comfortable at home because we play with our people and they will help us, but now is the moment to have this mentality and when we play away we need to play with the same passion and ambition to take the points.”

Peter Etebo made his Watford debut against Aston Villa last weekend and impressed the Head Coach with his work on and off the ball.

“He played very well,” continued Muñoz. “He was the balance, he was always in a very good position, always gave a very good chance for recovery and helped the other players. He was very good because he understood perfectly what we need to give more in front.

“His game was a very clever game. He didn’t have a lot of time with the ball but he was excellent, it was what we wanted from him. He gave the team 100 per cent with full power in attack and defence.”

Another potential debutant this weekend could be Joshua King, who is fit to face the Seagulls on Saturday. Muñoz feels King can provide a different approach in attack to the likes of Emmanuel Dennis, who started last weekend.

“He is a very good player,” he said. “I think we have another totally different striker and it’s perfect when you have flexibility with these players. He is fit, I am happy because he is working very hard and we will see what happens on Saturday.”

The Spaniard knows that every point is vital to staying in the Premier League, and his players need to work hard for every result in the top-flight.

“We know the amazing challenge we have and it's always important to keep building with our ideas and try to take the points even if it’s one point,” he said. “It’s important to play with high intensity, from the first minute until the last minute. All the points in the Premier League are very important points.”
