Imrân Louza says he will “give everything” at Watford following his move from FC Nantes to Vicarage Road.
The midfielder has signed for the Hornets on a five-year-deal ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season and is looking to continue his progression at top-flight level following a successful campaign in Ligue 1.
“I am very happy to join Watford,” said Louza, who racked up seven goals and two assists in his 35 appearances last season. “The Premier League is a big competition. I can learn and keep progressing.”
Born to a French mother and Moroccan father, Louza has played for both countries at youth level and knows recent Wolves loanee Rayan Aït-Nouri and Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo from his time with Les Bleus.
Louza supported his hometown club Nantes prior to entering their academy as an eight-year-old but now he is ready for a new challenge and sees Watford as the perfect club at which to continue his development.
“I was very happy with the time I spent with Nantes, it is the only club I have been with,” said the 22-year-old.
“I took the decision that I want to continue my improvement and progression, so I am very happy to be here at Watford to achieve this. I wanted to discover a new culture, a new competition and a new league. I want to achieve some new challenges.
“My ambitions are first of all to adapt, and then to try to bring my personal touch to a successful team, and to improve the team.”
An established set-piece taker for Nantes who is comfortable in a defensive midfield role as well as further forward, Louza possesses many qualities which will make him a valuable addition to Xisco Muñoz's squad.
“I have a big engine, good physical abilities and good technique,” he said. “I base my football on my physique and technique, and I will try to bring this to the team. I will give everything I have, in every minute of every game, to win the most games possible and to reach the best position we can.”
