Valérien Ismaël says Giorgi Chakvetadze can now feel at home at Watford after making his season-long loan move from KAA Gent permanent.

The Georgian midfielder completed his switch to become a full-time Hornet yesterday, to the delight of the Watford Head Coach.

"I’m in love with Giorgi," said Ismaël to watfordfc.com.

"From day one he is a great player with a great mentality. Everyone loves him as he's a quality player.

"I think for him it was an important move now, because he will be free in his mind.

"We saw already in previous weeks that he was starting to become more important in our game.

"He has a lot of energy and freedom, he knows now Watford is his new permanent home and now we can look forward to the future with him."

Ismaël confirmed that the permanent signing did not come at the expense of any other deals the club were pursuing.

"We took that decision at the end of the last year so we were pretty sure that Giorgi would become our player," the Head Coach said.

"We took the decision internally and then it was just a case of negotiations until we got this over the line."
