Injury Update: Latest On Sarr & More

By: Watford FC Staff

Ahead of this weekend's visit of Birmingham City to Vicarage Road, Ismaïla Sarr is being assessed after leaving the pitch early in the second half at Rotherham United on Tuesday evening.

Christian Kabasele is back in full training following bone bruising on his knee, and Tom Cleverley, who sustained minor ligament damage earlier this month, hopes to join him relatively soon. The midfielder is running outside and is confident of an Easter weekend return.

Club captain Troy Deeney continues to rehabilitate from his Achilles tendon tear, with upper body and cardio work part of the plan right now. A recent scan gave positive indications of steady progress.

As reported HERE, Tom Dele-Bashiru is now based full-time at the training ground and continuing to work back from his October ACL injury. The midfielder began running outside this week.

Youngsters Dan Phillips and George Langston are both in the process of shaking off hamstring injuries. Midfielder Phillips is hoping to do so in time to join up with the Trinidad & Tobago national team next week, while defender Langston is itching to get back and feature in more games on loan at National League outfit Wealdstone.

Ryan Cassidy has also returned temporarily to Watford from a loan spell at Accrington Stanley, as he recovers from an injury picked up with the League One side.
