FPL Watch: Front Three, Femenía And Foster

After several Watford players scored high in GW5, Fantasy Premier League managers may be looking to add some Hornets into their squads ahead of a home match against Newcastle United this weekend.

Plenty of FPL managers are deciding to use their Wildcard chip this week if they haven’t already, and according to FPL’s Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), only one of Watford’s next six matches scores more than three, making Watford players a potentially shrewd investment.

The front three of Ismaïla Sarr, Joshua King and Emmanuel Dennis collected a combined 31 points from the win over Norwich City last weekend, which has resulted in over 400,000 managers bringing in at least one of the three.

One player who may have gone under the radar on FPL thus far is right-back Kiko Femenía. The Spanish defender [£4.4m] needed only 17 minutes to notch his first assist of the season, delivering a wicked cross for Emmanuel Dennis’ opener.

Femenía earned four points during the Carrow Road clash, and could have added to his tally had he not left the pitch just before the hour mark.

It was confirmed on Thursday in the Team News that Femenía is back in full training and in contention for Saturday. Assisting Sarr twice last term, their link-up could prove to be a good opportunity for points this season.

With Daniel Bachmann a doubt for Saturday’s clash with the Magpies, Ben Foster may retain his spot in goal. The 38-year-old is the joint-cheapest goalkeeper in the game, priced at just £4.0m, and received three points against the Canaries.

Buying both goalkeepers for your team may prove a smart decision, as neither cost a premium [Bachmann is currently £4.5m] and one of the two is always likely to start between the sticks, making it a “set and forget” option.
