Ahead of Watford's trip to Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday (April 10, 7.45pm KO), we take a look at some memorable Hornets victories at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Watford - February 22, 2005

Goals from Jay DeMerit and Bruce Dyer gave Watford a superb 2-1 victory away at an Ipswich Town side who were hoping to go six points clear at the top of the Championship.

Demerit headed home the first right on the stroke of half-time and Dyer doubled the advantage with nine minutes to play, also with his head.

A Neil Cox handball resulted in an Ipswich penalty scored by Tommy Miller, but Ray Lewington's Hornets held out.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Watford - February 9, 2008

Ipswich were the only team in the Football League with an unbeaten home record prior to this clash in February 2008.

The Tractor Boys had not lost any of their previous 15 league games at Portman Road up until this point, but goals from Tommy Smith and Nathan Ellington either side of the break put the visitors 2-0 up.

Jonathan Walters replied for Ipswich in the 71st minute but some strong defending saw Aidy Boothroyd's side, who were destined for the Championship play-offs, hold out.

Ipswich Town 0-3 Watford - March 15, 2011

Danny Graham bagged a double and scored for the fifth consecutive match as the Hornets recorded a victory which was comfortable in the end but came despite strong spells of Ipswich pressure.

Graham struck as early as the third minute and then gave Watford some breathing space around the hour mark after they had weathered a home storm.

Don Cowie scored from 25 yards in stoppage time to add extra gloss to the scoreline and position the Hornets within four points of the Championship play-off positions.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Watford - December 3, 2011

Watford triumphed at Portman Road for the second time in the calendar year as they came from behind to secure all three points.

Keith Andrews had headed the Tractor Boys into a half-time lead but two Hornets goals in five second-half minutes flipped the game on its head.

Marvin Sordell levelled from the penalty spot on 70 minutes and Troy Deeney then scored the winner from close range, condemning Ipswich to their seventh defeat in a row.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Watford - February 19, 2013

Watford kept the pressure on the top two in the Championship as Ikechi Anya and Nathaniel Chalobah both struck at Portman Road.

Anya finished off a team move after Jonathan Hogg had struck the crossbar, and Chalobah was then played in for a cool finish.

Gianfranco Zola's side had the best away record in the league before the fixture, and kept that intact with all three points in what would be a play-off finishing campaign.
