His 140 goals came against 50 different opponents, with 61 goals away from home and 77 at Vicarage Road.

Deeney’s win percentage in a Hornets’ shirt stands at 50.6 per cent.

The former number nine has appeared in the top three for the club’s Player of the Season award six times, winning it twice (2014 and 2015).

He ranks fourth for most goals scored for Watford in all competitions, behind Luther Blissett (186), Tommy Barnett (163) and Ross Jenkins (142).

He also ranks ninth in the all-time appearance list for the Hornets.

The team he has scored most goals against is Bournemouth, with eight in 11 appearances.

When facing new club Birmingham City's rivals Aston Villa, Deeney has won all but one game he has played in for Watford, scoring six goals.

Against his beloved Blues, however, Deeney has scored five goals in eight appearances.

It takes his total number of goals against Midlands clubs to 16 during his time at Watford (2 v West Brom, 3 v Wolves, 5 v Birmingham and 6 v Aston Villa).

He scored 37 penalties during his Watford career, missing only six. He beat Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea four times from the spot, the most of any keeper he faced from 12 yards out.

His best goalscoring season came during the 2013/14 Championship campaign, starting 44 games and scoring 24 goals, also assisting his teammates on four occasions.

The following season - when the Hornets secured promotion to the Premier League - he assisted his teammates 10 times, the most in a single season in a Watford shirt.

He became the first Watford player to score three in one game since Michael Chopra in 2003, and the first player to do so at Vicarage Road since David Connolly in 1996.

Now club captain, in the 2014/15 campaign he became the first and only player to score 20 goals in three consecutive seasons.

He was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year that season, the driving force behind automatic promotion to the Premier League.
