Fresh from gaining national recognition at TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Awards 2018, take a closer look at the invaluable work undertaken at Watford’s pioneering Sensory Room.
The room – which celebrated its second anniversary last month – won the Interior and Fit-Out prize at the prestigious awards in late 2018 and was described by judges as ‘an example for all professional sports clubs to follow’.
Kitted out with a state-of-the-art calming area and offering an excellent view of the match action, all from a comfortable and accessible viewing location, the Sensory Room continues to positively impact autistic children who would otherwise struggle to cope in the noisy environment of a football stadium.
Watch the video above to take a look inside, and to hear from some of those who work there on matchdays.
Interested in trying the Sensory Room? Email Chris Hall, the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer, at chris.hall@watfordfc.com for details.
Places are subject to availability and a letter from a doctor/consultant or other healthcare professional may be required when booking. Parents will also have the option to visit the room before matchday, if they wish to check its suitability.
