Academy: Stockport Loan For Dalby

Under-23 striker Sam Dalby will continue his development with a loan move to Stockport County, Watford FC confirms.

The 21-year-old, who joined Watford from Leeds United's academy in the summer of 2019, will spend the next month with the National League side.

“It's a good move for Sam,” said Academy Manager Richard Thomas. “They've been looking for a centre-forward, a target man and Sam fits the bill. He is also good in and around the box and scores goals. We are expecting him to get game time. It's a positive move for him and we expect him to be successful at that level.”

Dalby began his career at Leyton Orient and scored on his full debut in League Two as a 17-year-old. He has regularly trained with Watford's first team over the past year, making his Hornets debut in the FA Cup replay at Tranmere Rovers in January 2020.
