Academy: Farewell Barry Quin

By: Watford FC Staff

Head of Academy Coaching & Development Barry Quin is leaving the Hornets with the thanks of everyone at Watford FC for a decade’s service to the club.

“During the last 10 years I have enjoyed carrying out a number of roles for Watford to support the club’s aims and objectives – including interim 18s and 23s coach and managing the Harefield project,” explains Barry of his time serving the Hornets.

“I have applied myself throughout with professionalism and honesty. I have enjoyed the journey and, most recently in my role as Head of Academy Coaching and Development, I have completed my Post-Grad Diploma in Elite Coaching.

“As the club takes a new direction, I feel it is a good time for me to do the same. I want to build on my education and continue to pass on my knowledge and experiences.

“I appreciate the opportunities the club have given me and the support during difficult times, such as the Covid restrictions.

“I wish everyone the very best for the future. I am proud of the effect I have had on the staff and the coaches in particular. I will follow the progress of the team in the Premier League, and the young players trying to get there.”

Best wishes to Barry as he looks to future opportunities, while here at Vicarage Road further news on Academy developments will be announced in due course.
