Academy: Chippenham Loan For Abbott

Watford Under-21 defender George Abbott has joined Vanarama National League South outfit Chippenham Town on loan until November 5.

Wales youth international Abbott, 18, has been a Hornet since 2016, and signed fresh professional terms this summer after captaining the Under-21s on several occasions during 2022/23.

Having also skippered the Under-18s to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup, Abbott will now look to further his development by gaining senior minutes with Chippenham, who finished 13th in the National League South last year.

The Bluebirds kickstart their 2023/24 campaign at home to newly-promoted Aveley this Saturday August 5 (3pm KO).
