Christian Kabasele and Roberto Pereyra are back in full training in a double boost for Interim Head Coach Hayden Mullins ahead of his first home game in charge.

Kabasele and Pereyra have been out since the win against Norwich City but they took part in a session this morning at the training ground in London Colney and are in contention to feature against Crystal Palace.

“They came through fine,” said Mullins. “They both did everything fine and unless anything happens in between now and Saturday, they'll be ready.”

José Holebas, Tom Cleverley and Sebastian Prödl will again miss out through injury while Craig Dawson is nearing a return following a sickening head injury sustained against Burnley, but Saturday's game will come too soon for the defender.

The big plus from Wednesday night was that Troy Deeney got 87 minutes into his legs and he should be sharper for what could be his first home start since the first home game of the season.

“Troy is massive for the football club,” said Mullins. “He's a leader and leads in every sense of the word, in training and in the dressing room. He's great to have in and around at this time.”

Such is Deeney's commitment to turning this round, that he stayed on longer than was planned against the Foxes and then had to be talked down from doing more on the treadmill this morning, according to Mullins.

Mullins is a popular guy around the place, regularly chewing the fat with members of the first-team squad even in his previous role. Now he has to be the man to make the big selection calls.

“We will pick an XI to go and do a job on the pitch,” said Mullins. “The attitude has been brilliant and we need them to feel well. It’s a great a decision to have [picking the team], having to pick a team from very good players. We need every player pulling in the same direction. Training [this morning] was bright, a real good intensity. We'll see where we are tomorrow.”
