What a ball from Richarlison. The Brazilian flights a curling ball from the left to the back post and Gray, tireless today, prods home. 0-3 and dreamland!

One up at the break

A really intriguing contest here at St James' Park.

Watford have the advantage at half-time thanks to Will Hughes' second goal in as many games and a late own goal, but it could easily have been the other way around on another day. Both sides have had chances, but the Hornets earned the rub.

3:46 PM - 45 MIN

Own goal doubles the lead!

Richarlison out to Zeegelaar, and this time the Dutchman's cross deflects painfully, for Newcastle, inside Elliot's post for 0-2. Away end loving it! That's half-time.

Newcastle close

Joselu finds space down the left to drive into the box, Gomes gets a crucial hand to his strike and the Hornets clear. Newcastle by no means out of this - they've played well.

3:31 PM

The Golden Boys celebrate Will Hughes' opener.

3:31 PM - 31 MIN

Could have been two!

Gray is offside as he tries to force a loose ball home, Elliot tipping over. Cleverley has his head in his hands, as he was perhaps better placed to score and onside.

3:25 PM

Will Hughes in action moments before putting Watford ahead.

3:24 PM - 24 MIN

Yellow card

Watford's assist man in the book for a foul on Ritchie.

3:18 PM - 18 MIN

Hughes again!

Great football from the Hornets to go one up.

Kabasele finds Zeegelaar on the left, who cuts the perfect ball back for Hughes to open his body and find the bottom corner. Get in!

3:13 PM - 13 MIN

Beautifully found by a sweeping through ball from Doucoure, Richarlison drives forward and forces a finger-tip save from Elliot.

3:11 PM - 11 MIN

They thought it was in...

Ritchie comes inside off the right and fires one towards Gomes' left post but it hits the side netting. Brief celebration from some of the home fans before realising it was wide.

3:03 PM - 3 MIN

Newcastle on top

A couple of early forages down the left for the hosts. Joselu should have done better with Murphy's cross, ball cleared.

The gaffer speaks

“Last week we were really happy we won and with the clean sheet.

“Our players know how much work we do on the defensive phase so the best result is to win and have no goals against us. This is always the target.”

2:15 PM

Marvin's View

“We always play attacking football, it's a good philosophy and I like playing in this team.

“Everyone wants to play in big stadiums so Newcastle is one of those and we are looking forward to the game.”

2:00 PM

The teams are in...

...and the Golden Boys are unchanged from the win over West Ham last time out.

It's testament to the performances of Will Hughes in recent weeks that the youngster retains his place with Roberto Pereyra now fully fit.

Kiko Femenía, as expected, is fit to play after coming off with a knock last weekend. Stefano Okaka, however, does miss the game due to a calf injury picked up in training.

Newcastle are without captain Jamaal Lascelles through injury and the game has come just too soon for fit again defender Paul Dummet.

HORNETS | Gomes (GK) (C); Mariappa, Kabasele, Britos; Femenía, Cleverley, Doucouré, Zeegelaar; Hughes, Richarlison; Gray.

Subs | Karnezis (GK), Prödl, Janmaat, Watson, Capoue, Carrillo, Pereyra.
