“A fantastic atmosphere in our stadium” - Silva

Watford Head Coach Marco Silva said he was pleased with the point against Liverpool, when he spoke to Sky Sports after full-time:

"What a fantastic atmosphere in our stadium. The fans pushed our team in the last 15 minutes.

"It was as tough as we expected. It was a balanced game in the first half, I liked the intensity, but we didn't start well in the second half.

"We reacted well though. In the last minutes the third goal was fair result."

“We are happy to come back” - Doucouré

Goalscorer Abdoulaye Doucouré spoke to Premier League Productions immediately after the final whistle:

"We had a very good game, we scored a lot of goals today and we are happy to come back in the last minute.

"We did very good pressing in the first half. The second half was very hard, but it's normal because they are a very strong team.

"We are very fit but unlucky to have two or three injuries today.

"We can carry on to have a very good season from now."

2:35 PM

The crucial moment

2:28 PM - 90 MIN

FULL-TIME: Watford 3-3 Liverpool

Goals from Stefano Okaka and Abdoulaye Doucouré, and an injury-time equaliser from Miguel Britos mean the Hornets come away from the opening game of the season with a point against Liverpool.

Okaka opened the scoring after he nodded - or shouldered - in a José Holebas corner. Sadio Mané equalised for the visitors before Doucouré bundled in a deflected cross to give the Golden Boys the lead heading into the break.

A questionable penalty ten minutes after the restart of play was converted by Roberto Firmino, and a quick-fire third was added by Mohamed Salah left Watford looking at nothing to show for their performance.

But Britos was the saviour for Marco Silva's side, heading the ball in on the line in the 94th minute, meaning the Hornets have drawn all three of their opening Premier League fixtures since being promoted in 2015.

2:23 PM - 90 MIN

YES! 3-3!

Richarlison's effort is tipped onto the bar by Mignolet's hand, and Britos forces the ball over the line to equalise!

Ugly, but - get in there you Golden Boys!

From where we are sitting the decision to award a penalty looked very harsh.

Gomes ran out to challenge at the feet of Salah and the referee looked to his assistant for a decision despite being better placed.

Can we call him Charli yet?

New-boy Richarlison has already rounded the keeper (albeit while offside), played a through-ball in for Amrabat and put in a solid sliding tackle...getting into the thick of things straight away!

This time Pereyra's in trouble. He's holding his groin, and that's the end of his afternoon. Richarlison comes on for his debut.

HALF-TIME: Watford 2-1 Liverpool

Breathless. What a half of football at Vicarage Road, as the Hornets go in at the break 2-1 up, and quite deservedly so!

Goals from Stefano Okaka and Abdoulaye Doucouré either side of a Sadio Mane equaliser secure a half-time lead for Marco Silva's men.

Lawro Predicts

BBC Match of the Day pundit and former Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson has predicted a 1-1 draw at the Vic, here's what he had to say about this afternoon's fixture:

"Andre Gray scored nine league goals for Burnley last season and Watford will be hoping he scores a few more after playing about £18.5m for him this week.

"I think the Hornets will be better than they were last season with Marco Silva as manager - he will get more out of his players than his predecessor Walter Mazzarri did.

"The focus on Liverpool is about Philippe Coutinho, and whether he will join Barcelona - but he has a back injury so he won't play in this game anyway. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is without Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge too."
