By: Watford FC Staff

In the 1-100 series, our Young Hornets choose seven numbers between 1 and 100, answering questions that correspond to each specific digit.

First to take on the questions is Spanish forward Laken Torres.

The 18-year-old joined the Golden Boys in July 2023, having enjoyed an impressive spell with National League side Chesterfield where he earned the Academy Player of the Year award. Torres has featured for Charlie Daniels’ Under-21 squad throughout the campaign so far.

5 – You have four years to train for the Olympics, what sport (apart from football) do you decide to attempt?

I would say shot put. I reckon I would be quite good at that in the Olympics.

42 – What is the biggest sacrifice that you’ve had to make in order to achieve what you have in your career?

Moving away from home and moving into digs to try and achieve my contract. I first moved in earlier this year and it was a really big change. It takes a while to adapt.

50 – You’re only allowed to hold on to five personal belongings, what are you keeping?

My phone, phone charger, food, TV and clothes.

55 – If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

It would probably be America. I have never been and would love to see as much of it as possible.

60 – What is your favourite footballing memory?

Signing my first professional deal, definitely. It was the culmination of all my hard work. Before I was down in the National League and so it was a big jump to move to Watford.

66 – You have a time machine and can go anywhere in the past, when and where do you go?

I would love to go and watch Pelé at any of the World Cups that he played at. That would be amazing.

100 – The best thing about your country?

Probably the food. In Spain, the food is really good and traditional. I really like Paella or Rabas.
