FAQs

If your technical issue or support enquiry is not answered within these FAQs, please email watfordtv@streamamg.com with details.

If there are no issues at the broadcast end, we will need to complete troubleshooting steps, these may involve confirming details about the device, software and your internet connection.

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you are using compatible technology ahead of purchasing a live subscription.

Live video coverage of league games is available for domestic and international fans, but there are restrictions on what fixtures can be broadcast due to EFL broadcasting rules and regulations.

Live audio offers fans an alternative way to follow matches, with live commentary of every league game during the season. All audio commentaries are available worldwide.

Live video and audio broadcasts are available via the club website and official iOS/Android apps.

  • Non-televised Saturday 3pm KOs and Friday/Sunday games – only available outside UK and Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man

  • Non-televised midweek games – available worldwide

  • Televised games – only available in selected territories (notified by the EFL in advance of the fixture)

  • Audio commentary – available worldwide

If there is not a pay-per-view match pass available in your territory for the game you want to watch, then it is not available.

We will publish how-to-follow articles on the website ahead of every league match, detailing exactly what streaming options are available.

The EFL does not permit the free online broadcast of audio commentary, however audio-only Hive Live passes will be available for all Championship games.

We are not permitted to stream video from matches played in the Carabao Cup or FA Cup. However, audio commentary will be available for all supporters.

Yes, your live video subscription includes all audio streams. So, if a game is not available to watch live, you can always listen to it.

The following is a breakdown of the subscription packages and costs:

  • Live Video: The 2023/24 International Streaming Season Pass is priced at £140 per season (early bird rate) or £170 per season (non-early bird rate). The International Streaming Monthly Pass is priced at £25 per month and automatically renews on the same day each month unless cancelled. Live match passes are priced at £10 per match for both international and UK & Ireland-based supporters.
  • Live Audio: The 2023/24 Season Audio Pass is priced at £45 per season and is available to all supporters. The Monthly Audio Pass is priced at £4.49 per month for all supporters and automatically renews on the same day each month unless cancelled. Live match passes are priced at £2.50 per match for all supporters.

No. The EFL allows monthly or seasonal video subscriptions for supporters based overseas. Match-by-match access is available domestically. This is due to the EFL’s existing broadcast agreement with Sky Sports.

If you are on a monthly package, it is an accepted risk that some months will have more live fixtures than others, so no refund will be given in those cases. While we realise that this might be frustrating, we do not increase costs in months that have lots of games and this is an accepted risk by the club. We believe it will balance out over the course of the season.

Seasonal video & audio subscriptions will not automatically renew and will expire on the date stated when you signed up.

Monthly video & audio subscriptions purchased during the 2022/23 season will auto-renew, including in the summer, unless cancelled.

Individual game packages will expire after the purchased game and are one-off payments.

You can cancel or unsubscribe from the service in the ‘My Account’ section. Within ‘Active Subscription’, click on the ‘Cancel’ button and you will then be able to cancel your pass. This will give a cancel date and you will still have access to the service until this point. You may not be able to do this via the app, so please log on to a browser to do this.

If you have already had your weekly/monthly subscription taken for this period, unfortunately we cannot refund this as this is part of your terms and conditions.

Please be advised that three working days’ notice is required for cancellation. Cancellation within this period may result in your account being charged for the next period.

Yes, you will be able to access Hive Live using a laptop/PC via the Watford FC website. For the best viewing experience on a smart device, we recommend using the free club app (search ‘Watford FC’ in your app store).

A red Hive Live banner should appear across the top of your screen on the app on match days when a stream is available. If you do not see this when you believe streaming should be available, please ensure you have the latest version of the app installed.

We won’t be broadcasting pre-match and post-match studio shows, as we did in 2020/21, however coverage is likely to start approximately 10 minutes before kick-off.

No, you are only able to log into one device at a time.

Please check your connection speed - a minumum of 4mb/s bandwidth is required to view. SpeedTest is a handy tool for this. Also, be aware of the usage of devices on your network. If other people on your network are streaming/gaming, this may affect the amount of bandwidth available to you. An attempt to use a VPN can also cause buffering - VPNs are prohibited and if detected your access to the stream will be revoked and no refund given.

The live video or audio commentary player will only be live during a match. If the game has kicked off and you are receiving this message, please contact via watfordtv@streamamg.com.

Your device needs to comply with the following minimum system requirements: Processor: 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor, or Intel® Atom™ 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbooks; Memory: 2GB (1GB for netbooks) 128MB of graphics memory.

The most common error message is {"status":"error","message":"Field=LastName (last_name) claim, Value=undefined: no value"}

If you are seeing this message it means you don't have a last name entered on your Hive Live profile. To update your profile details, click HERE and enter a last name and click 'update profile'. You should then be able to purchase a match pass.

No. It is for private, individual use only. Commercial premises are excluded from the live streaming service. The EFL has a strict monitoring policy in operation and will prosecute any premises illegally streaming live games.

Games are available in line with the geo-restrictions listed earlier in these FAQs. If you receive this message, the game is not available in your country or territory.

If you’re outside the UK on holiday and trying to access the stream via mobile data (3G/4G/5G), your IP address is still registered as being in the UK despite roaming due to the way roaming mobile service works. Connecting to a local WiFi network should solve this.

Domestic fans travelling overseas will have the same access as international users only if they buy an international subscription to the live streaming service once abroad. This is because the UK and Ireland subscriptions have different entitlements to the international subscriptions and you can only access international subscriptions outside of the UK & Ireland.

International fans travelling to the UK & Ireland won’t be able to view live streams they are eligible for as their IP address when connecting to the internet will identify them as not being in an eligible country.

All feeds of the game are monitored by the club and the EFL. The EFL has a strict monitoring policy in operation and will prosecute individuals who illegally stream live games. We would ask anyone who observes these feeds to anonymously inform us via watfordtv@streamamg.com

Refunds can only be issued for those who have reported a technical issue via watfordtv@streamamg.com during the game that proves to be a fault of our providers and cannot be rectified. Please note that if you do not watch a stream through choice, or don’t report a technical issue to customer service during the game, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Refunds will not be issued for supporters attempting to access via a VPN or using a smartphone or tablet browser.
